1. Someone told me that your 20s are spent apologizing.  Well, you know what?  I realized that I really need to stop apologizing for things that I don’t need to apologize for.

It’s rather annoying though, that I realize that after the fact.

  2. The young man who sat across from me on the train was writing in his journal.  He kept smiling.  I wonder what he was writing about.

He also had paint splatter on his pants.  Perhaps, an artist, he scribbled words and punctuation to capture his ideas. Or…

He’s just messy and has a lot of feelings to write about.

  3. Just be you.
    And you’ll soon hear it:
    the sound of your anthem.
    Note by note
    Line by line
    like a banner waving.
    Proud.

  4. Doodle of my nephew, Elijah <3 He loves cars.

  5. A rarity: (1) I was able to leave work early today. (2) Spent my afternoon relaxing. (3) Bought a book for leisure.

  6. I hate casual

The only thing good that came out of “casual” is clothing. Yes, J.Crew, you got that one right.

I think what I hate most about casual is that it often and easily becomes nothing and in this short life, nothing just can’t be the sum of our lives.

What this world needs more of is meaningful passion, dedication, and true goodness behind all the things we do and say.

Make today count because you just never know when you’re gunna peace out or, when they will.

    Big love,
    E

  7. DIY & Decoupage
It’s been a process, but I’m starting to piece my new room together!
I didn’t think I was a “shabby chic” kinda girl, but I do enjoy the cuter things in life.

  8. Voids

I think we often do things to fill voids in our lives.
I find it odd that we constantly feel the need to be whole.
But, I’m right there with you.
And it hurts when we feel incomplete.
It’s like a twisting hunger and we become people in need.
And the neediness, I think, is the hardest part to overcome.
It is evidence that sometimes, we survive, barely.

  9. Common is beautiful, too.

  10. Random thoughts while in NOLA

Everything’s bigger in the South.  At least the food portions are.
I wish I had decent photos of the food I’ve been eating here, but NOLA is NOJOKE when it comes to their meals.  And. I LIKE IT.

You know what else is NOJOKE in NOLA? The humidity.
Jumping into a pool after each conference session has been amazing.

And while we’re on the subject of the pools.  Yesterday, a little boy was afraid to jump into the 2-feet deep end and the father said, “You’ll never be an Olympian.”
So much for encouraging words.  But, he’s probably right.  He’ll probably never be an Olympian. Shucks. Welcome to the 99%. Shall we join Occupy?

Will be on the air-o-plane in a few hours.  I’m a little bummed because I will most likely finish my book.  I hate the ends of books.
